Bidding for a power lunch with the legendary Buffett is hitting a record pace in this year's charity auction, with the top bid hitting $2 million by Monday.

Initial bidding for the opportunity to have a power lunch with Warren Buffett hit $2 million by Monday, setting a record pace for the annual charity auction. Bidding started Sunday night on eBay, with an opening bid of $25,000.The CEO of Berkshire Hathaway and iconic investor will lunch with the winning bidder and up to seven friends at New York City steakhouse Smith & Wollensky.
All proceeds go to GLIDE, a San Francisco-based social service organization that helps to alleviate human suffering, poverty and homelessness. Buffett's first wife, Dorothy, introduced him to the program.
Last year, the winning bid reached $2.63 million, with the price tripling on the last day of bidding.
Bidders can pre-qualify and place bids until 10:30 p.m. EDT on Friday, June 10, at www.LunchWithWarrenBuffett.com.
