Could Gisele Bundchen be the first supermodel to reach billionaire status? Forbes seems to think so -- and it's her business savvy, not just her looks, that might get her there. While fellow modelpreneurs including Heidi Klum, Cindy Crawford and Christy Turlington have all proven to be successful businesswomen off the runway, Bundchen has been on a branding roll lately. Her Ipanema collection of sandals with footwear company Grendene sold 25 million pairs in 2010. She also started Sejaa Pure Skincare, a Phoenix-based all-natural cosmetics company of which she is still sole owner. In addition, she owns Palladium Executive, a hotel in Brazil.
Bundchen's next venture, though, could be her biggest to date. The former Victoria's Secret model recently created her own lingerie company, Gisele Bundchen Brazilian Intimates, in a joint venture with Brazil-based Hope. Brazilian newspaper Folha de Sao Paulo estimates her stake in the company could bring her another $19 million annually.
At her lingerie line's first runway show in last month, Gisele announced, "Life is made by dreams and I am really happy to announce that, right now, you will all know the Brazilian Intimates -- my dream coming true by Hope."
