Intuit, a major provider of financial solutions to small and mid-sized businesses, announced Wednesday that it's investing an additional $1 million toward aiding small businesses as part of its Love a Local Business campaign. The campaign, which Intuit launched two years ago, awards monetary grants to local small businesses based on online nominations and votes from their fans. To date, the program has awarded $525,000 in funding to 104 small businesses nationwide. In the continuation of the campaign, Intuit will be allocating its $1 million in grants from now until March 31, 2012. Each month, Intuit will be awarding $25,000 in hiring grants to a randomly selected business that has been nominated on the website.
Shana Rawlings, a local business grant recipient and owner of Harmony in Hooves Therapeutic Riding Center in Benton, Ark., said of the program: "People don't realize that a few thousand dollars can go a long way when you're a small business, working with a 'down to the penny' tightrope budget."
Details for how to win a Love a Local Business hiring grant can be found at www.lovealocalbusiness.com. "As a company trusted by and relied upon by millions of small businesses, we at Intuit see ourselves as partners of small business, so it's our responsibility to help them continue to progress," said Nora Denzel, senior vice president and general manager of Intuit's Employee Management Solutions, in a statement.

We need friends and you can help. Let our non-profit organization change the outlook on life of a child in your facility. We’re aware of the disturbing changes in our communities. The abuse and bullying our youth encounter daily and we are determined to stop the cycle of violence. We are in need of financial donations of any amount as well as gift certificates as prize give aways.
There is no other non-profit organization like Foster Friends Foundation as we:
-Provide companionship and social interaction for ages 5 to 105 years, specifically the non violent youth, living destitute in shelters, foster homes.
- Promote and fully unite cultures, diversity, foster friendships to the disadvantaged, emphasizing self esteem, eliminate loneliness, emulating a peer.
-We’re not a club, nor a parent-to-child program, but a peer-to-peer friendship, mentoring & inspiring.
-Honor all confidentiality, never ask delicate questions and never discriminate!
Statistic report when a parent, especially a father, is absent in a young kids life they are more subjected to the juvenile system. By emulating a Foster Friend, a impressionable child will strive to succeed and exceed in goals that are set realistically. We motivate and reassure a child they are not at fault, not to feel ashamed, we build essential self-esteem. Allowing a child to escape from their brutal reality and salvaging trust while engaging in age appropriate activities and conversations.
Here at Foster Friends we visit homeless shelters, hospitals and foster homes and ask the most disadvantage children to join us for a day of fun, rather in-house or around the town. There is no memberships to maintain, no after school programs for the shelter living student to feel alienated. There is no large groups of youth present for potential bullying to occur. Foster Friends creates a positive chain reaction while providing essential human interaction as adolescence's ends and adulthood begins.
If every child living in despair had a Foster Friend to emulate and confide in that child is less likely to act out in delinquent lifestyle, anger and resentment. Communities would be less aggressive if the cycle of violence was stopped in early childhood development. Foster Friends Foundation is determined to make our future generation a happier, safer and more determined generation.
Thank you
