Flavor Flav Closes Chicken Business After Four Months
The rapper and reality TV star says problems with his business partner and payroll issues led to the quick shutdown.

After just four months in business, rapper/reality TV star/aspiring restaurateur Flavor Flav and restaurant manager Nick Cimino have shut down Flav's Fried Chicken in Clinton, Iowa.Flav said his decision to quickly pull the license from the venture was due to Cimino's management. "I gave [Cimino] permission to take my name and my life and operate a business," Flav told WQAD.com. "I have to do whatever is possible for me to save my name and that's to shut the business down because Nick Cimino is not running the business right."
Cimino claims he was just as unhappy with the partnership. "I started this," he told WQAD.com. "I put together everything from the menu to the color of the building to the sign. I did everything. What Flav's doing, he's a fraud. He doesn't want to be hurt with the other ventures he's doing and he wants to become a millionaire off my dime, off my ideas."
Even during its brief lifespan, the fried chicken restaurant couldn't escape controversy and operational problems. Some FFC employees claimed their checks, for as little as $150, had bounced. At the official grand opening, Flav responded that maybe the accusers were "just jealous of me being here, and they probably want to see me out," while Cimino said the accusers were disgruntled employees he had recently fired.
At the time of the business closing, however, "The reason I pulled the license was because there's a lot of employees that weren't getting paid," Flav said.
Although he ended up closing one FFC instead of opening hundreds as he originally hoped, Flav apparently hasn't soured on the idea of being a restaurateur. He has already mentioned plans to open an entertainment venue/restaurant in Las Vegas called "Flavor Flav's House of Flavor."

Sal, I understand fully wht direction the world is going. Its just says that each one of us has a hand in either making it better or worse. If we all dont try to make things better, our children and childrens children will suffer. As I shared its sad how some of us pass judgment on others. I really dont car what he, Barry Bonds or any other man black or white thats in the media. As long as they are not hurting someone. Why should we judge, why should we care? I know there are dogs out here. I just dont let them get close enough to bite. And think about this. We all started out as innocent kids. Why did he pick Clinton, Iowa to start a new business?

Flav's net worth is approximately 9 million. While we're wasting time bashing him, he's busy going to the bank. I understand pulling out of a bad deal. He's preserving his money....but Hey Flav...pay those employees. C'mon now.
