As graduation day approaches for college students across the nation, an increasing number of students will leave school with a job offer this year, a new study finds. According to a survey of 174 member employers conducted by the National Association of Colleges and Employers, respondents plan to hire 19 percent more new college graduates this year than they did last year. That's up from the 13.5 percent that NACE member employers projected in the fall of 2010.According to the organization, which conducts a job outlook survey with members every year, the last time the hiring projections for college graduates saw a double-digit increase was in 2007. Hiring increases are expected across regions and across most industries, the survey found. The employer industries that indicated the most aggressive hiring plans for 2011 included: oil/gas extraction companies, chemical manufacturers, computer/electronics manufacturers, finance, insurance and real estate.
The survey also found an increase in the number of positions available to college graduates, with respondents reporting that those positions have tripled. However, the average number of applications that employers have received per opening has dropped from 40.5 in 2010 to 21.
"Employers are receiving fewer applications per job opening as current graduates now have more opportunities to choose from," NACE executive director Marilyn Mackes said in a statement. "That's a good indication that the job market for new college graduates is gaining momentum."

Hey Stock43852! If you are selling this on the internet it must work great.
As a CEO, I'll first look for experence, especially those layoff by my company, then those with experence that were layoff by companies in my field. As for college, yes at a entree level, but not what some of these college grads think they should be pay. That degree doesn't mean you start at the top, in the business world, one has to work for it.
YOU can NOT be serious.......With all the people living in their cars because they LOST their home, no food for their children because they CAN NOT afford it, no job or jobs?????????????? what about the cost of clothing????????? this is just to mention absolutley NOTHING people are suffering from....COME ON just the AVERAGE FAMILY MAN.......GET REALLLLLLLL..... How can ANYONE save a CENT and then you have these scums wanting to take more from the POOOOORRRRRRRR.....you need to face REALITY!
Sharee needs to get reeeaaaalllllll. You're failure to use any bit of proper punctuation of grammar leads me to believe that you have little to no education. The middle class is huge and there are massive amounts of people struggling. All you did was complain and offered no explanation of why yourself or others are struggling. You're just ranting, that's all. I bet you blindly voted for Obama because you believed all the hype he offered without looking at the realities of the economics he put forth. In one more year I will have earned my second degree in 6 years and will owe my lenders $30,000.00. "Earned" being the operative word, but I will eventually be okay because I've invested in my future. I still plan on getting my Master's degree also, putting my debts up over $100,000.00. Tell us what you've actually done to make the future better for yourself and why it hasn't panned out for you before you start your rant.
