Chicken fight: Rapper and reality star Flavor Flav recently opened a fried chicken restaurant next door to a popular KFC location.Flavor Flav, the clock-sporting rapper and star of the reality dating show Flavor of Love, recently opened a fried chicken eatery in Clinton, Iowa -- located right next door to a KFC that's been feeding locals since 1963.

But Flav isn't worried about competition, and he's confident that his chicken will outdo the Colonel's.

"The taste will blow up your taste buds," he told the Clinton Herald. "You'll have fireworks in there."

However, according to the adjacent KFC, the opening of Flav's Fried Chicken (FFC for short) has had no effect on sales.

"Really, our business has been normal," said Nonie Robb, the store's general manager. Even though Flav boasts about his fried chicken's flavor, Robb does not foresee her business being affected by the Public Enemy star's new venture. "I think KFC speaks for itself with all the years we've been around."

Flav, who pledged to be an active owner in the restaurant, said he hopes to open hundreds of FFCs. He even plans to work behind the counter, seasoning, flouring and frying chicken. In fact, William Drayton Jr. -- his real name -- is a 1978 graduate of cooking school who worked as a head cook.

Flavor Flav has also penned an autobiography -- Flavor Flav: The Icon -- which is set for release in spring.
