Blonde ambition: Jessica Simpson's fashion label is expected to bring in $750 million in revenue this year.Jessica Simpson just got engaged to former NFL player Eric Johnson, but the pop-singer/reality star/entrepreneur has something else to smile about: Her fashion empire will reportedly bring in a whopping $750 million in revenue in 2010. What's more, Simpson's eponymous collection is expected to be the first celebrity label to top $1 billion in annual sales. Not bad for someone who was dismissed as a "dumb blonde" after famously asking whether Chicken of the Sea tuna was chicken or fish.

The Richardson, Texas-born Simpson, 30, forayed into fashion in 2007, and her empire has penetrated more than 20 fashion categories -- including shoes, perfume, jeans, lingerie, swimwear and watches. Vince Camuto, the founder and CEO of Camuto Group, which licenses Simpson's wares, has a simple explanation for the success of the Jessica Simpson brand: She's likable.

"She is the girl next door and has great product that surrounds her," Camuto told WWD. "People like her. People look at her as a style icon."

Simpson, who acts as her brand's creative director and has a net worth of $100 million, shows no signs of slowing down. In 2011, she plans to launch a sportswear line of jackets, knits and dresses.
