A A AStarting your own business is a noble -- not to mention exciting, rewarding and often crazy -- undertaking. The experience is an adventure, to say the least, and no two entrepreneurial paths are exactly the same, whether they result in fame and fortune or just a few hard knocks.
There are an estimated 27 million small businesses in the United States. And 27 Million and Counting is our attempt to capture as many of these unique, only-in-America success stories as we can. The premise is simple -- we give entrepreneurs 60 seconds to share their stories, in their own words. We hope they will inspire, inform and maybe make you laugh. This is Nick's story.

Being an entrepreneur & starting a business isn't a career, it's a lifestyle! People are being forced now more than ever to tap into their most prized resource & possession, which is their minds. Entrepreneurship means to be an outside the box thinker when it comes to being innovative.
I started my business after I lost my job in 2005. I came up with an idea, created a prototype, patented & trademarked it, then presented it to industry in just a short 3 year span. Now I sell them in over 140 countries & growing world wide.
If you're an outdoorsman & love to hike, backpack, camp or fish or even know someone who does, watch, then send them these videos, you'll be happy you did. :)
The Pen Fishing Rod featured in this youtube.com video www.youtube.com/watch?v=BcvXbbUxoWk by www.penfishingrods.com makes a great gift for the outdoorsman or woman in your life. It's a cleverly fabricated miniature fishing rod disguised as a Pen. It's only 7¾" closed or 4' 9" which is 57" in length when fully opened & comes with your choice of 9 different reels ranging from the world's smallest fly fishing reel to an equally fabulously designed variety of spinning reels both front & rear drag. Then we have the Goliath series rods which are 8" closed & 63" or 5' 3" fully opened and also come with your choice of 9 different reels. Watch our videos on youtube.com created by happy customers from all over the globe featuring our products. Google us, don't just take our word for it!

Sure Gleslie. If you are broke, rent a table at a flea market and sell some things you are not using. This will generate some cash for you. Look around, see what is selling. The two best flea market businesses I ever saw were a guy with a fudge stand & one with a carpet cleaner powder which he demonstrated by scrubbing mud out of a 200 dollar Persian rug. Use your cash to start one of these or similar. If it works, take it to the next level & open your own store....Al-
Gleslie I started a business a year and a half ago. We are now in the expanding stages. It's a turn-key business and costs 125 to get started and 25 a month for licensing. It's labor based like college hunks but we dont charge you tremendous fee's. Funny thing is I am in Tampa and I see the 2 college hunks trucks sitting in the same parking lots for weeks on end. one had a white door sticking up out of it and i know it wasnt moving. They put out small yard signs that the city normally throws away. not to mention they make you hire 4 people and the dump fee's and such.
he was on millionaire matchmaker!
Stella & Dot is the modern home-based career that your mother never had. We’ve put the power of e-commerce, social networking and personal service behind an irresistible jewelry line. It’s the next big opportunity for our era. Think getting together with girlfriends, Lucky Magazine, Facebook and no glass ceiling in sight. Recognized in the New York Times and on the Today Show, its not only a big idea, it’s a smart business that actually works. To learn more about the Stella & Dot Opportunity you can view this fantastic video. Stella & Dot is fawned over by all the big Fashion Magazines like Cosmo, InStyle, Redbook, Lucky who feature our fantastic Jewelry in their style pages and these are not paid advertisements these are true editors picks from seeing the line created by our amazing designer Blythe Harris.
With Stella & Dot I am able to make my own schedule and make as much money as I put the effort and time into making. Stella & Dot Stylist put together Trunk Shows for their customers to have fun and try on the Jewelry in a non threatening way. There are no speeches or hard sales just friends getting together in their homes, coffee shops, and cafes to try on Jewelry and have fun like we used to do in college when we had all of our friends helping us to choose just the right outfit for the evening or going on "field trips" to the mall. Now time is of the essence in our lives and the modern day woman is pulled in a million directions at once and we forget to take the time to have fun with our friends and reconnect. Stella & Dot Trunk shows facilitate that time for friends to get together and enjoy some girl time. So as a Stylist for a minimal amount of work before the show and a few hours from walking out your door to walking back in it you are hanging out with adult women making new friends and making money at the same time.
Host A Trunk Show:
I would love to set up an in person Trunk Show for you and your friends if you are in South Carolina.
Not in South Carolina but still want to party? I can set up an online Trunk Show (get your friends together in a chat room to party the night away).
You can email me and we will set something up for you. As a Hostess: Earn free jewelry, plus half priced jewelry based on your party sales. To host a Stylist led party, contact me by
e-mail, Moluv26@aol.com or through my website www.stelladot.com/fabmonesia
I would love to help you succeed and reach your dreams. Please email me with your contact information including a telephone number and a good time to call you so I can answer any questions you have. “Be daring, be different, be impractical; be anything that will assert integrity of purpose and imaginative vision against the play-it-safers, the creatures of the commonplace, the slaves of the ordinary.” –Cecil Beaton
I was forced into early retirement, which I was no where near ready for! Was forced to live off my quickly dissapearing 401K until a friend of mine told me about the Affiliate Code at http://bit.ly/6HbFFL which was the best move I ever made! Since then, I was able to roll what was left of my 401k back into a retirement fund and passed this info on to my daughter as well so she could leave her company. I wish I had known about this 10 years ago!
You guys are amazing. This site was put here so that entrepeneurs would have a chance to show how they have prospered off of very unique and intuitive ideas, and all you want to do is promote your bs work from home internet scams?
Thank-you AOL and all the businesses involved in this forum for putting up such a site, and congratulations to Nick Friedman for starting and investing in such a worthwhile company.
Would anyone who isn't promoting an online business care to comment?
Eh, they could have given the dude a little more time to explain his business in more detail. The article is also sorely lacking. So good-looking guys haul your junk away? Is that the deal? Oh, well, if scantily clad women can wash your windshield in the middle of traffic, why not?
As a founder of a small business, there is no overnight success... It has taken me 20 years to get to where I am financially and client wise. Motto, do a great job and be proud of every product or service you supply and stand behind it and you will succeed. Common sense many times win's over any college degree one may have... For you parents let your children start their own, your enabling them by doing the grunt work and then handing it over...No drive to start it on their own and succeed.
You are such a complete MORON, you talk like an idiot. You write like a dumb ass. You can't write. Are you black or what? Or are you a wanna be black? Either way, you sound stupid. You may think it is all cool to talk like that, but it isn't. Makes you look like the lowest form of human life on this planet, worthless and uneducated.
Jasmine, in her response to jake, has revealed herself to be so deeply steeped in her ignorance and stupidity that she is absolutely clueless as to what a fool she is. Imagine her bringing race into this, no doubt to prove her superiority while she is likely turning tricks with men of every color because she finds it exciting--while lying to friends and family about her fetish. She manages to pull her head out of her colon, and this is what she comes up with? What a sick sow.
da gubermint goin' giv mee duh munee i wan so i'z kin buy duh stufs i wan.
So this guy started his own business doing a job Americans won't do? There goes that theory.
What the story failed to say is that his rich Jewish daddy backed the business with nearly a million dollars.
God knows there is enough crap to haul out there. Starting with chinese crap. How many clothes does one need by the way? ........... Last, they can clear out my basement.
You better hope that they don't haul away "ugly" white trash. Just reading your off-subject rant is an indicator that you would be among the garbage that should be hauled away. "Gorgeous" blonde? Hardly. What good is your being goregous on the outside (although women who truly are don't really put it out there as you have done) if you have such an ugly inner core? The beauty that you perceive that you have could be taken away instantly by an illness or an accident or, if you're lucky, the passing of time. But you'll still be monstrously ugly on the inside if you don't affect a change.
